INNOVATIONS

InNovation is our edge

WHAT is Different about the ZGFL?

The Zenith gridiron football league will introduce innovative design elements and technological advancements to enhance gameplay, player safety, and the overall fan experience. The following is some of what we have planned for 2028:

1. the ball

  • Our ball will be a standard-sized, gridiron-designed football. However, the color will be dark gray with a green/yellow neon rugby-style spiral accent paint design along the seams.

  • * This pattern and contrasting colors will make the ball easier to track in the air, improving gameplay and the viewing experience for fans while also adding an appealing aesthetic and enhancing brand recognition.

2. RFID Measuring System

  • Our league will use an RFID measurement system for ball spotting and down measurements.

  • * This will reduce human error and speed up the measuring process.

3. A Safer Game

Equipment

  • Our league will mandate the wearing of helmet caps and Q-Collars in games and practices.

  • We will provide top-of-the-line helmets and pads to protect our players.

  • * This will reduce injuries and positively impact the long-term health of our players.

Rules

  • The widening of the neutral zone

  • * This reduces head-to-head contact along the line of scrimmage.

  • Alternate kickoff

  • * This will reduce high-speed collisions associated with traditional kickoffs.

  • Powerplay

  • * This will have more direct consequences for personal fouls, which can lead to serious injuries, thus reducing the likelihood of such infractions.

Expanded Field Boundaries

  • Our field boundaries will be three yards thick.

  • * Having side and end lines that are one yard thicker will reduce the chances of injuries from collisions involving players whose momentum takes them off the field of play.

4. Goal Posts

  • Our goal posts will feature a wind-channeling system and a singular post design.

  • * This setup will allow us to have higher posts while reducing the wind sway associated with traditional gridiron uprights.

  • The front quarter of the posts facing the field of play will be painted green/yellow neon, while the remaining three-quarters will be painted dark gray.

  • * This color contrast will make the posts easier to distinguish from a distance, improving gameplay and the viewing experience for fans.
